Where: Start and finish on Market Sq. and Market St. in New Albany, Ohio
Distance: USA Track & Field certified 10k course (6.21 miles)
Contingency Plan
At this time, we are planning to host the 2021 New Albany Walking Classic in-person. If we have not received final approval from local government and health officials to host the event by June 19, 2021, all registrants will be transitioned at that time to a virtual event at no additional cost. No refunds will be provided if this happens. All participant giveaways will be mailed.
Virtual Walker Registration
Can't walk in person? Register as a virtual walker! As a virtual walker, you can walk the 10k distance (6.21 miles) at a venue of your choice. It can be in a park, on the streets in your neighborhood, on a treadmill or as a part of a nother race. You are required to complete the 10k distance by Walking Classic day, September 19, 2021. You can choose to walk your distance in segments. For example, you might complete the distance on two separate days. Although we cannot monitor whether you complete the 10k distance, we will rely on your honesty. Most important, get out and move! Those registering through ha company or organization team that supplements the entry fee are not eligible to participate as a virtual walker.

There are many benefits to participating in the Walking Classic as a virtual walker.

Your race garment and medal will be mailed to your home shortly after the Walking Classic (September 19, 2021) so you don't need to attend packet pickup.

Packet pick-up options:

When you pick up your race packet in person at Columbus Running Company you will receive a $15 coupon toward a minimum purchase of $40. The discount can be used only the day you pick up your packet. You may pick up your packet during regular store hours from September 8 - September 13, 2020.

Select to have your swag shipped to you at no cost

If you already paid $30 for shipping you may ask for a refund or donate your $30 to Healthy New Albany, a non-profit organization that supports a food pantry and provides programming and services to those in Central Ohio.

If you do not select an option by July 20, 2020, you will be required to pick up your packet in person at Columbus Running Company as detailed above.

No packets will be available after September 13, 2020.

A valid drivers license (copies are accepted) must be presented to receive your packet. If picking up for others, you must show a valid driver’s license (or a copy) for each person. NO EXCEPTIONS.

The Walking Classic has a no refund and no bib transfer policy.

You can also train year round with the New Albany Walking Club! Every Sunday morning, walkers from throughout central Ohio and beyond walk together regardless of one’s capabilities. Visit the Walking Club website for additional information and explore the many benefits of membership. Currently the Walking Club is on hold due to COVID-19. Sunday walks will resume once state guidelines determine it is safe to do so.
