Training

Many training opportunities are available for the New Albany Walking Classic as well as other events.



New Albany Walking Club

While the New Albany Walking Classic offers the opportunity to participate in a nationally recognized event, individuals have the chance to continue training with the New Albany Walking Club throughout the year. Walkers travel from many different parts of Central Ohio and further to walk at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings in New Albany. Free training, the chance to purchase the latest fitness clothing at minimal pricing and educational seminars are just some of the benefits of membership. Our members are diverse with an age range from the lower 20's to 70's. Our members are teachers, physicians, attorneys, realtors, fitness coordinators homemakers and more with a host of other fascinating professions and backgrounds. And most important, members have fun, make new friends and significantly improve their fitness levels. The New Albany Walking Club welcomes you to try us out. Training Schedule

Walkers with the New Albany Walking Club are able to train for distances ranging from a 5k to full marathons. Our walkers receive expert guidance to help them attain their walking and fitness goals. The schedule below, developed by Dr. Phil Heit, President of the New Albany Walking Club can be used to train for the Walking Classic.
